Kay Peterson, M.S., CALT, QI
Director
Kay Peterson
received her Bachelor of Science degree in Child Development and a
Master of Science in Human Resources and Business Administration. Kay
is an educational consultant, publisher of educational materials to
support Orton-Gillingham based programs and is an adjunct instructor for
the School of Education at Mississippi College. She is a Certified
Academic Language Therapist (CALT) and an ALTA Qualified Instructor (QI).
Kay has served as president of the Academic Language Therapy Association
(ALTA), on the board of directors for the Dallas Branch of the
International Dyslexia Association (IDA) and as Vice President for the
Alliance for Accreditation and Certification. She currently serves as
President of the ALTA Foundation and was recently elected to the board
of directors for the International Multisensory Structured Language
Education Council (IMSLEC).
Melanie Royal, M. Ed., CALT, QI
Director of Teacher Training
Melanie Royal
received her teaching certificate from the University of Dallas, Irving,
Texas and a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Tarleton
State University, Stephenville, Texas Melanie works with first and
second graders in a public school system in Central Texas and provides
staff development and support to classroom teachers. She is a Certified
Academic Language Therapist (CALT) and an ALTA Qualified Instructor (QI).
Melanie is a past president of the Academic Language Therapy Association
(ALTA). She currently serves as treasurer of the Alliance for
Accreditation and Certification of Structured Language Education.
